The 6 days when my mum and sis were here with me, we went to many places of interest.
There are just too much to type so in summary, we went to…
- City area/Town- It’s just like SG’s Orchard Road, the main shopping district where it’s bustling with people. 3 of us, along with Kel (my housemate) and her parents, walked through the city and took the city cat. The city cat is a transport as common as buses and trains. It also has a stop at UQ! :)
- Chinatown- This place is said to be the least safest area to be at night. It’s so not cool that Chinatown is the least safest place. X( Anway, we all know what CT is- a place more for Asians, particularly Chinese. I’m more interested in the Korean grocery shop there. ;)
- South Bank- It’s where Griffith University (one of the Uni I applied for) is located at! We went there (together with Kel and her parents) for the market place which is said to take place only during the weekends. It sure was bustling with people and the place was beautifully decorated with plants and trees.
- Gold Coast- We went to GC along with Eileen and her family. There was this Malaysian guy whom Eileen met in UQ. He’s a member of the Malaysian Society in UQ so he offered to drive us to GC for sight-seeing and shopping. We didn’t go to any of the “Worlds” like Movie World or Dream World etc, because there were just too many things to do inside. But we did pass by those places. It looked hella fun! We just went shopping at this one place where there were many shops! I don’t know what’s the place called… didn’t bother to find out. :P After shopping, we went to Surfers’ Paradise. It’s one beautiful beach!
- Sunny Bank- After GC, we went to Sunny Bank for dinner. It’s like the 2nd Chinatown where there were lots of Asians hanging out there. Definitely lots of Asian restaurants as well. We ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Food wasn’t bad at all.
Now for pictures:
The City!
Queens Plaza building. Just a shopping centre. :)
The point of this picture is the bird in the centre. Can you spot it?
Anyways, here’s a better pic:
It’s called an Ibis and they can be found around places with lots of people, especially in open areas of restaurants. We were so amazed when we saw this in the city! O_O!
This is a casino! Looks grand, doesn’t it? Kel and her parents went there very often while they were here.
Here’s a ferry point (or stop or whatever. I’m not sure what’s the “stop” called yet) where people hop onto the city cat!
Inside the city cat. Very comfy! Spot Kel and her mum! :P
Out on the open platform. Very windy and cold! ><
South Bank
That’s a building of Griffith University.
Gold Coast and Surfers’ Paradise
This is the shopping area where we shopped! There were lots of shops and we couldn’t finish shopping within the time frame given!
Guess what T-shirt am I wearing? LOL!
Our pastas! The restaurant’s name is Fasta Pasta! Random but I like the name! ^^
Us! The friendly waitress offered to help us take a group photo! :)
The waves are GIGANTIC and so POWERFUL as compared to SG’s waves. No wonder it’s called Surfers’ Paradise. Surfers love waves like these.
That place is very windy and quite chilly. I don’t know how the ang mohs walk around half naked!
Cute dog which we played with for a while! The owner was really friendly and allowed us to play with it. :D
Excuse my retarded expression! LOL.
Who knew I would be cuddling a real Koala few days later? XD
