Dinner with classmates

Yesterday’s dinner was spent with my Korean classmates and 선생님들 (Korean teachers) at a Korean restaurant! :)

The atmosphere was pretty high for the Aussies. They were as usually LOUD and HYPER. While me and sx (the sporean girl with super good Korean) sat opposite two Koreans who are friends of an Aussie classmate. We talked with them and were immersed within our own circle. Haha. Typical.

Aussies are too hyper for us to handle.

But it was a good and bloat-y dinner. Two of our 선생님 treated us to jap-chae and mandu. We were SOOOOOO full after that. A lot of jap-chae were left over. XP

After that the hyper ones with 선생님 went to 노래방 (no-rae-bang/ Korean Karaoke) while we went home. I think even if we went we would just sit there even if we know how to sing. Most of the aussies are expert in Kpop okay! “dun play play!” LOL.

AND AND AND. I can finally slack a little now. The past week was SUPER hectic. SUPERRRRRR!!! Phew. Sydney trip this Friday would be a reward+ relaxing trip before another round of take-home exam commences. :)

PLUS PLUS. I think I want to push my flight date forward if I’m able to. I’m going back on 3rd Dec!!! Everyone is going back in Nov… WTF. I’ll be left alone here. I’ll try and ask if there’s any earlier dates. If not… I can spend my days with my weird Hong Kong friend because she’s the only one I know who is going back later than me.

Battling with a grasshopper!

OMG……………………………………

SERIOUSLY.

REALLY REALLY REALLY DISGUSTING. REALLY REALLY TRAUMATISING.

So Helek and I were just chilling out in our “living room” watching Toy Story on TV this evening. During advertisement, I was just looking elsewhere when I notice there’s something wrong with our gate/grill door.

There is like an “extra something” sticking out at the top of the gate. When I looked a little closer, I realised with UTTER HORROR that it was a GIGANTIC EFFING BUGGGGGGGG!!!!

First thing I did was shrieked, jumped out of my seat and ran behind the wall for protection (where I can run into my room anytime just in case the bug happens to fly). Helek was like WTH?! And I went OMG LOOK AT THAT!!

She looked on for a second and realised too that it was a freaking GINORMOUS bug just crawling at the top of the gate. She panicked as well and went to get a cupboard.

What she wanted to do was open the gate and swipe the bug out. When she managed to open the gate, the bug was just crawling higher and higher to the ceiling. She tried to swipe at first but the bug held on. IT WAS SO DAMN HUGE and STRONG.

At the second huge swipe, the bug dropped and FLEW INSIDE!! BOTH OF US FREAKED OUT AND RAN INTO MY ROOM!! I immediately shut the door for fear of it flying in. LOL. SO CREEEEEEEPY!!

After we calmed down, we slowly went out to look for the bug and found it sitting on top of our cookie container!! Then we realised it was a STUPID GRASSHOPPER!! It’s so damn creepy crawly, so brownish, so HUGE, so disgusting! It looked exactly like the grasshoppers in the cartoon, A Bug’s Life.

I tell you, I just hid in my room and watched Helek attempt to swipe the bug towards the open gate. It flew around to many places and in the end flew right outside my room. LUCKILY I AM FAST ENOUGH AND SLAMMED MY DOOR SHUT WHEN IT FLEW TOWARDS MY DIRECTION. EEEEESSSSHH!!!!

Helek was also traumatised because it was TOO HUGE for her handle. Usually whatever bugs I found around the house, I would ask her to catch. But this time, the grasshopper was too huge and damn scary. Both of us were really freaking out BIG TIME. LOL.

So in the end how? Helek called our neighbours for help as I waited inside my room, too scared to even open and peek out.

Our neighbours came over and swiftly caught the grasshopper with newspaper, crushing it for good!

PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWW!!! Stupid 10-cm long grasshopper!

In the midst of all the freaking-out, Helek managed to take pics of the grasshopper. Will upload the pics when I get them from her. You’ll be disgusted as well.

GEEZZ!! Australia is sucha bug-sy nightmare for me! LARGE ANTS, SPIDERS and GRASSHOPPERS! I’ve only stayed here for 4 months and I’ve encountered three different kinds of spiders already! There was this one time a HUGE spider (about 8cm wide) was just plastered to our gate when we came home. SO SCARY!!! Helek managed to swipe it away.

At home it was beetles, now in Aus there’re more creepy crawlies. Damn it!

Holy Macaroni!

I finally completed my 40% essay! I don’t know what it is- either Arts is really easy to do or it’s my forte because so far my grades are quite… fine.

Anyways the past week has been BUSY BEEZEE!

Spent a night at Laynee’s, went shopping the next day. Attempted to bake Mocha cake but failed terribly. Our attempts at baking cakes have been quite miserable so far! ARGH… and Sydney day is coming up next Friday! Excited much!

Things I need to conquer before heading to Sydney (30/10/09):

1) Korean oral test

2) Rise of Modern Asia (ROMA) take-home exam

3) ROMA reflective journal

4) Japanese popular culture blog portfolio

OMGGGGG. Got to start working on journal. Didn’t I say this before? October= month of madness!

Even more OMGGGGGGGG. My updates on Kpop sadly have been just bits and pieces. I usually read every single news but now I can only do selective reading due to the time strain and internet quota (eff it).

SG in 6 weeks! :D

Stress!

Today I went to church. Again. :x

The people there are soooooo friendly and nice. It’s so nice to attend church once in a while. I even went along with one of the youth groups for lunch at one of the pastor’s house. We had buckets of fried chicken from KFC and just chilled out at the lounge, chit-chatting away. Oh if you must know, EVERYONE there are Asians either from Malaysia or Singapore but mostly S’poreans. The church is catered mainly for Asians. I felt like I was pulled back to SG when everyone just started talking about poly, JC, Bedok, Woodlands, etc.

Mingling with the friendly people took my mind off things for a while. But reality strikes back when I said my good-byes to them.

Tests! Assignments! ARGH!

I am feeling so stress and I don’t know why! My 40% assignment’s deadline has been extended to a week so the load is not as heavy but there is this imaginary buzzing sound in my head that is continuously reminding me of 40%… 40%… 40%… essay.

It doesn’t help that I have got Korean oral test tomorrow and written test on Tuesday. The coming week is going to be just test + assignments! The essay is really bugging me and my head hurts whenever I think of it. Sign of stress. :T

Oh and exam time table is out. I’ve only got ONE exam paper. :) That’s because my other courses are take-home exams! That ONE paper is Korean written test on the 19th Nov. SO DUMB. My one and only paper is on the last day of exam period. Shiiiiat! I cannot play until that day! EFFF.

But I’ve got like 10 freaking days to study for the paper. I have to make sure I score 100% for this paper- HAHA if only I study every single of the 10 days that is!

Well after exams… it’s back to SG! And that’s the reward I’m looking forward the most. Less than 2 months away from SG. Time flies like nobody’s business. Can’t believe I’ll be going back to SG so soon. But the next time I come back Aus, it’ll be for a looooong time. Or so it may seem…

Just another random photo post….

…because I need a break from the readings for my BIGGEST assignment in this semester.

It’s me and LN in the city!

IMG_1332
Steam my own dou sa bao one morning~

IMG_1335
Look at the steam~ But there was too much bao and too little filling so it tasted alright…

IMG_1339
Blueberries! Bought them today, ate them today! SOOO CHEAP. Only 3 bucks! Usual price 8 bucks!

IMG_1340
Yawn! Books I borrowed for my assignment… Good thing I took History in secondary school.

IMG_1342
My assignment topic- number 8. Guess why? LOL.

This assignment is due next week and it has a whooping 40% weightage! *dies* Even heavier than exam. =.=”
Right now, I only have 10% clue on what to write and here I am blogging away. Now you know how distracted I am. I always do unnecessary things when I have to study/write assignments- like taking photos of my books, assignment topic and then blogging. My mood always go down to the lowest when I have tests/assignments on my mind! Cranky!

Just 2 more months!

Mid-term break is ending and I realised that it’s only 2 more months away before I head back to SG! Aw-aw-awesome! I just can’t wait to gorge myself down with CHEAP sporean food, eat sweet popcorn in cinemas, go shopping and MOST IMPORTANTLY, unlimited usage of internet!!! :D:D:D:D

The day after Harbour Town shopping was a Wednesday. Went to LN’s place to experiment on baking cake! We’re planning to bake TWO cakes for 2 special friends of ours who we’ll be meeting when we head off to Sydney in a month’s time! It’s going to be their birthdays when we meet them!

I’m so excited! Sydney in just 4 weeks away! Meeting The Friends there as well… ahhhh… So excited and don’t really know what to expect! ^^

We baked Honey Almond cake that day but it didn’t turn out as expected. It tasted alright, but still not up to standard! We’re thinking of changing recipes… Chocolate cheese cake perhaps. But it sounds “chim” to me.

Well, last night I was looking through my organiser and realised [with sudden apprehension] October is going to be such a month of madness for me! Assignments, tests, exams and events jam-packed in one month! OMGGGG…
